XML to JSON

Paste well-formed XML with one root element. Attributes are represented with an @_ prefix and text values with #text when needed. Repeated sibling elements become arrays. Text and attribute values remain strings, preserving leading zeros and identifiers that should not become numbers. Standard escaped entities are decoded. DTD and custom entity declarations are rejected; the converter does not fetch external documents or resolve external entities. XML ordering, mixed content and namespaces do not have a universal one-to-one JSON mapping, so inspect the result before using it in an integration. This is a structured data transformation rather than a lossless XML archive or an XML schema validator.

A practical workflow

Start with a short, representative input whose expected result you understand. The example button, when available, fills an editable sample; it does not pretend that your own file has already been processed. Adjust the controls before pressing Process or Generate. Changing the input invalidates the previous result so you do not accidentally download output for an older revision. The result panel appears only after useful output exists. For repeat work, keep a clearly named original and save each result with a name that describes the settings you chose.

Check the actual result

A successful conversion still deserves a quick check in the program where you intend to use it. Open the downloaded file, compare a few distinctive values or visible details with the input, and confirm the format and extension. Copying is an alternative for text results. If clipboard access is unavailable, select the output and copy it manually. A download is a real file produced by the browser, not a server job reference. If processing fails, read the visible error, correct the input or reduce its size, and run the operation again. No empty download is offered as a substitute for success.

Local processing and browser limits

Input is processed on this device. The browser may load application code when a tool is first opened, but this tool does not send your document to a conversion server. Refreshing clears the working input. Downloads remain wherever your browser saves them, and clearing the page does not erase those saved files. Available memory and format support vary between browsers, especially on phones. Keep the tab open during processing and use smaller inputs if the device becomes slow. These tools are intended to make everyday work easier; confirm the result against any schema, publishing rule or downstream application that matters to your task.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit before downloading?

Yes. Change the input or controls and process it again. The earlier result is cleared when the input changes.

What if my download is missing?

Wait for completion, use the Download button, and check the browser download list. An error message means no valid result was produced.
