How to convert JSON to CSV
Paste JSON into the box or open a .json file.
Choose a delimiter. Use a semicolon if your Excel uses a comma as the decimal separator, as in much of Europe.
Press Convert to CSV, check the preview and download the file.
What JSON works
The best input is an array of objects, such as [{"name":"Ann","age":31},{"name":"Bo","age":27}]; each object becomes one row and each key becomes a column. If the JSON is a single object that wraps one array (for example an API response like {"results":[...]}), that array is used. Any other single object becomes one row. Columns appear in the order keys are first seen, and objects that lack a key get an empty cell.
Nested data
CSV is flat, so nested objects are flattened with dot notation: {"address":{"city":"Oslo"}} becomes a column called address.city. Arrays are kept as JSON text inside one cell, because there is no single correct way to spread a list across columns. If you need one row per array item, reshape the data first.
Quoting and Excel
Values are written following RFC 4180: any value that contains the delimiter, a double quote, a line break or leading or trailing spaces is wrapped in quotes, and quotes inside it are doubled. Lines end with CRLF. Excel on Windows sometimes misreads accented or Chinese characters in UTF-8 CSV files; tick Add BOM to add a byte-order mark that tells Excel the file is UTF-8.
Privacy and limits
The input is processed in this browser, without sending it to a conversion server. Pasted UTF-8 text and imported files are limited to 10 MiB each; complex data may fail sooner because memory and parser limits also apply. Page and script loading, advertising or analytics requests are separate; see Privacy. Downloaded results remain on your device.

Frequently asked questions
Is this JSON to CSV converter free?
Yes, with no sign-up and no limit on the number of conversions.
Why do I see an "Invalid JSON" error?
The text is not valid JSON. Common causes are trailing commas, single quotes instead of double quotes, or several JSON objects pasted one after another without square brackets.
Can I open the result in Excel?
Yes. Download the CSV and open it in Excel; tick Add BOM if non-English characters look wrong.
Is my data uploaded?
This converter does not upload the selected file or input for processing. That does not mean the website makes no network requests; see Privacy for page, advertising and analytics traffic.
