Combine PDFs without uploading your documents

Merge complete PDF documents in the order you choose. This tool reads selected document bytes inside the browser and creates a new PDF without sending those bytes to a document-processing server.

Prepare the documents

Use at least two readable, unencrypted PDFs. Open each source first to confirm its page count and contents. If a document is signed, keep the signed original: the new merged file is not a continuation of its digital signature. If you only want selected pages, extract them with Split PDF before merging.

Merge in a deliberate order

1. Open Merge PDF and select the documents.

2. Use the up and down controls in the file list to set document order. Pages within each source keep their original order.

3. Start processing and wait for the new result. Download merged.pdf.

4. Open that downloaded file, check the first and last page of each source, and confirm the total page count. Keep the originals until you finish this check.

A five-page check

For a two-page document A followed by a three-page document B, the result should contain five pages in this order: A1, A2, B1, B2, B3. Reversing the file list should produce B1, B2, B3, A1, A2. Use visible labels in simple test documents so that a page-count check alone cannot conceal an order mistake.

Extract pages before merging

In Split PDF, choosing the extract mode with 1-3,5 on a five-page PDF produces one four-page PDF containing pages 1, 2, 3 and 5. The separate-pages mode creates one output per selected page. Page numbers start at 1; duplicate numbers, descending ranges and out-of-range pages are rejected. Download multiple outputs individually or as a ZIP, then check its extracted files.

When the result is unsuitable

Merging and splitting encrypted PDFs are not supported even if you know the password. Use an unencrypted copy you are authorised to obtain. Copying pages does not guarantee preservation of document-level bookmarks, interactive forms or signatures. Merging is not PDF compression or OCR. Check page orientation and legibility; a scan remains a scan. Large files can exhaust browser memory, so use smaller batches when necessary.

If processing fails

A cancelled or failed job is not a completed PDF. Read the error, confirm that every source opens in a PDF viewer, and try a small pair to identify the failing file. A .pdf filename alone does not prove that the file contains valid PDF data. Downloaded files remain on your device; closing or reloading the tab can discard unfinished work.

What still uses the network

PDF processing is local, but the page and its libraries are downloaded. The live site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. This code does not create manual ad slots, but the Google AdSense tag is present and may send requests. Those website requests are distinct from sending your document bytes for conversion.
